Were you able to successfully set up your RSS feed? If not, where did you run into problems? If you were successful, does this make information-gathering more convenient for you?
I was successful in setting up my RSS feed and was very impressed with this service-I had not heard of it in the past. This is very useful in keeping current with a variety of topics/subjects in one stop. It is also good to have the ability to subscribe/unsubscribe with a click-I over subscribed and had to remove some sites. I will continue to make use of RSS.

Google

What do you like about the Google product? What do you dislike? Would you recommend the product to friends and colleagues?
Google is amazing with all that is available-google universe is an appropriate name for it! The one product I reall like is Google Street. Since it was first started, they now include it in the regular Google Maps as an 'extra' feature. This comes in very handy to verify the directions as well as to familiarize yourself with a new area you need to find. This product would be fabulous when you are travelling and wish to check out the area for your hotel/restauraunts/tours. The niggling 'dislike' is that it takes away some a degree of anonymity/safety. Big brother is watching/thieves might use it to familiarize themselves with an address. I would definitely recommend this product to others to use.

Social Networks

Why do you think social networking sites are so popular? What are the main appeal factors?

From what I can see, the ability to communicate with/check on news from 'friends' any time and anywhere is the major appeal of these sites. You can select how much information you share and block people you do not want to communicate with.

Wikipedia

I was able to find an obscure topic! It was Vorlon Tomato which is a heirloom seed I am trying to purchase. The odd thing was the word Vorlon was not entered either-the tomato was named after the aliens from the TV show Babylon 5. I was reluctant to publish an article because I did not think it was important enough.

What are the advantages of storing, sharing, and tagging web content this way? What are the disadvantages?
The best sources are grouped together for similiar (library-type) questions/searches. This can make searching more efficient as you don't have to plow through as many hits to find what you need-it is more organized than the internet.
One disadvantage is the tags used may not be universal and it might take numerous 'clicks' to find the required information.
